Quirky equestrians - the place where no one is judged. Yes!! It's time for my second quirky equestrian to share their story! I had such an amazing time with Abi on her shoot. This woman is absolutely incredible with some pretty amazing talents under the belt - including the use of fire... which I may have had a go at on the day. Her horse Jack was pretty epic too, he took absolutely everything in his stride & was totally awesome!! I am so excited to go & see Abi again for another shoot in the future, but that will be a story for another day. So, here is the amazing Abi to tell her story. Enjoy.
"Hi, my name is Abi & I have had the pleasure of working with Abbi Grief Photography & feel honoured to take part in this amazing project." "My story started back at the young age of 21, ambitious & driven to have all of these wonderful things in life, your typical 21 year old. Little did I know that my life would soon change forever." "Now before you read on, none of this defines me as a person & never have I wanted this to be a sob story but my story is to inspire & motivate people to do what makes them happy. We, you, us... are not alone."
"I'm writing this as a now 32 year old. Just under 10 years ago I found a lump & from there my life as that girl with cancer began. The days were sad, with tantrums, tears & 'why is this happening to me.' With the cancer taking hold & being told this was now me, I soon started to realise that this was a sink or swim situation. Sooooo, I began my journey and went on an adventure to do some amazing things...." "I became a fire performer, stilt walker/circus performer because, well, why not? I also competed on stage as a bikini body builder & won the British & World title in 2014 & also competed in the 2019 qualifier for UKBFF. I have also worked in film & TV, making regular appearances on Emmerdale, Coronation Street, Peaky Blinders & Call of Duty to name a few." "Would I have done all of this should I never have found that lump? Who knows, but it's made me the person I am today. Strong & independant."
"My horses saved me mentally & kept me going physically when I wanted to give up on everything. Throughout the numberous operations and treatments to be told I could no longer have any other treatments that would work, they really pulled me through. I have evented for years & continued throughout ill health, it really did keep me sane & my horses were my very own personal team of special healers." "Never give up, be your own hero & remember that you are never alone." Abi x
So there you have it. Be brave, be bold. Follow your dreams, anything is possible. Abbi x
